Prof.Dr. Tarkan Karakan grauted from Hacettepe University English Medical Faculty who he worked between 1994-2000 at Gazi University Department of Internal Medicine as research assistant.

Between 2000-2002 worked at Ankara Bayındır Hospital Department of Gastroenterology.

Prof.Dr. Tarkan Karakan worked in Gazi University Department of Gastroenterology from 2002 to 2005 as an assist. He continued his studies in the same department since 2005.He earned the title which is associate professor.He has been working and continues his studies at Gazi University Department of Gastroenterology as faculty member.

Prof.Dr Tarkan Karakan attended to Advanced endoscopy course between 2009 and 2010 who he had been in In the field of endoscopic ultrasonography for 3 years at ABD in Johns Hopkins University.His interests are endosonography, clinical nutrition and intestinal flora- probiotics.

He has been working in his own Office and also continues his studies at Gazi University Department of Gastroenterology as faculty member.
